Getting started
Yes. Every account starts free -- artisan, master, and employer accounts all include a free tier with no upfront cost. See the pricing page for optional paid upgrades.
No. The main platform works best on a smartphone or computer, but credential verification is also available over USSD for feature phones -- no internet connection needed to check a credential code.
Yes. A single CraftCred account can hold artisan, master, and employer access at the same time -- for example, an artisan who is also a master can issue credentials from the same login, and can activate employer tools without a separate sign-up.
Credentials & verification
A digital record confirming that a specific person completed specific training or work, issued by a real party -- a master craftsman or a trade association -- rather than a self-reported claim. Each credential has a unique code (in the format CC-NG-YYYY-XXXXXX) that can be checked independently of the person holding it.
A master craftsman can issue you a credential directly. Alternatively, a master creates a certification request, you confirm it, and a trade association reviews and signs off on it -- the association-certified path.
Anyone can enter your credential code on the public verify page, or scan the QR code on your public CraftCred profile -- no login required. The result shows the credential's status (active, expired, or revoked) and who issued it.
A job you log becomes verified once the employer or client who hired you confirms it happened, through a confirmation link sent to them. Unconfirmed work still shows on your ledger, but it's labelled as self-reported, not verified.
Trust score
From real activity on your account: verified work records, active credentials, and account history combine into a single score shown on your public profile. It updates as you add more verified work or earn new credentials.
Yes. Your public profile has visibility controls for trust score, portfolio, work stats, location, credentials, and association memberships -- you choose what a visitor sees, and you can make the whole profile private.
Becoming a master
From your artisan dashboard, submit a master-access request with at least three references from people who can vouch for your work. Requests with fewer than three references are not accepted for review.
Issue credentials to apprentices and graduates, track alumni and the credentials you've issued them, and participate in association-certified credential requests as the initiating master.
For employers
Use the public verify page or the employer scanner in your dashboard to enter a credential code or scan a worker's QR code. You'll see their verified credentials and confirmed work history -- no account required for the worker's side.
A record an employer adds confirming a worker was employed or verified for a specific job -- it appears on the worker's profile as employer-confirmed history.
For associations
Submit an association application. Once approved, your officers get governance access to review membership requests, sign off on association-certified credential requests, and maintain a member directory.
A queue of pending credential sign-offs, incoming membership applications, and a governance audit trail of past decisions -- all scoped to that association's own members and requests.
Account & security
Yes, from the Security section of your profile settings -- you can review active sessions and revoke any you don't recognize.
Resetting your password signs you out of every other device, so any session that isn't yours is closed automatically.
